Tokenews launches a directory of AI models, makers and products
Every tracked AI model, maker and provider now has its own page with real per-token prices, plan contents and leaderboard scores.
· announcement
Tokenews is a directory of the AI era: the models, the makers that build them and the products that sell access to them. It starts with the question every subscription page leaves open — what does a model actually cost per token, once you know how much a plan lets you use?
What is on the site
- Makers: every company whose models we track, with all of their models and every plan that serves them.
- Providers: everyone who sells access — official subscriptions and APIs, and third parties such as coding plans — with each plan tier and the models it includes.
- Models: each model's plans ranked by real price, its official API list price, its scores and ranks on independent leaderboards, and the evidence behind every number.
- The explorer: price against capability on a Pareto chart, plus rankings and allowance comparisons.
How a real price is computed
A plan's real price is its monthly fee divided by the tokens you can actually use in a month, quoted in US dollars per million tokens. That turns subscriptions, coding plans and metered APIs into one comparable number, set against each model's official API list price. The methodology explains the workloads, conversions and confidence levels, and every figure links to its sources.
Where the data comes from
Prices, allowances and leaderboard scores come from the open Real API Pricing dataset (MIT licence). Tokenews checks it for updates every day and republishes when it changes.
News on releases, price and plan changes and leaderboard moves will appear here and in the RSS feed, each linked to the pages of the models, makers and providers it concerns.
